For Intersnack Procurement B.V. we are looking for a

Packaging expert/Quality Manager  - Fulltime

Reporting to the Manager Quality Assurance Packaging, the jobholder will be directly responsible for the Quality of Packaging materials – primary, secondary and tertiary. It is his/her responsibility to build and maintain the Vendor Assurance Program that ensures the safe implementation of the Packaging Categories’ strategies and the optimal operation of Intersnack Group Supply Chain. The increasingly commercial environment of the savoury snacks market makes commercial awareness a very important requirement for the ideal candidate. This role is based in Doetinchem – Netherlands or Cologne - Germany, and involves travel.


  1. Develop a program that will safely achieve the objectives of the category in the areas of sustainability, supplier & portfolio optimisation, supplier qualification and approval.  
  2. Contribute to the Category sourcing strategy on technical level and be one of the gatekeepers, primarily ensuring Food Safety, but also an impeccable supply chain to our factories on operational level.
  3. Execute the  program that will safeguard our products and processes, ensuring legal, social, food safety, technical and Intersnack company requirements across our packaging materials are met.
  4. Manage complex and fast-paced categories, with high number of Vendors and items, ensuring vendor compliance, data system integrity and stakeholder communication.
  5. Be an integral member alongside category manager and the Packaging Development team of the risk assessment team, and perform analyses of supplier market/category/supply and develop Total Cost Ownership (TCO) models to identify improvement opportunities.
  6. Evaluate with the Category Managers Vendors’ performance and create improvement plans.
  7. Manage the Vendor Audit scheme, so all audits are completed as per required timelines, vendor audit non-conformances are actioned and closed.
  8. Manage and support Intersnack certification audits related to VA topics (e.g. ISO 9001, BRC, IFS).7
  9. Develop, update, communicate the Food Safety Risk analysis of the Packaging materials and ensure that all Intersnack Group factories are fortified against industry’s hazards.
  10. Operate as single point of contact for our specification system. Support the vendors in implementing the system in practice including necessary training in alignment with Category Managers and Group Packaging.



  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Packaging Science, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science, or similar.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Vendor Assurance, Quality Management, R&D or similar in the FMCG industry.
  • Knowledge of current EU legislation (in particular regulations 1935/2004, 10/2011 and 2023/2006) and certification industry standards relevant to food manufacturing and product labelling is preferred.
  • Computer literate
  • Languages: English required and preferably 1-2 other languages.
